The municipality of Sliven is now officially on the investment map of the Industrial Parks in Bulgaria

“Sliven Industrial Park” is already on the map of industrial parks in Bulgaria. By order of the Minister of Economy and Industry, it was entered under No. 30 in the Register of Industrial Parks. With this, Sliven becomes part of the investment policy at the national level with opportunities to attract investors and a recognizable destination for business development, both for local and multinational companies and their partners.

Since 2019, the Municipality of Sliven has pursued a targeted policy to improve the investment climate in the region and attract investors, with the aim of improving the well-being of its population and improving its quality of life. This process went through several stages – preparation and approval of a Detailed Development Plan for a territory of private municipal property, which is regulated for production and warehouse activity. The second step was the creation of a commercial company “Industrial Park Sliven” EOOD, in which the Municipality of Sliven is the sole owner of the capital. After that, all the necessary documentation for the implementation of the Law on Industrial Parks and the registration procedure was prepared.

The industrial park has an area of 2,684 decares and is one of the largest industrial development projects in Bulgaria. It spans a group of land properties on the north and south sides of the former Burshen Airport, enabling the development of the park to be phased. At the same time, the existing runways of the airport and the motor track will be preserved. It is divided into 17 districts located in 4 zones: “Zone “North” – from the 1st to the 6th district, with an area of 452 decares; “Zona Southeast”, neighborhoods from #9 to #13 and from #15 to # 17, with an area of 533 decares; “Southwest Zone”, district 14, with an area of 38 decares; “Airport and Motorway Area”, districts 7 and 8, with a total area of 1,660 decares.

The development of the park is planned to be carried out in stages, starting with the “Zone North”, for which internal infrastructure will be built, accessible to each plot. It will have electricity supply, water supply for drinking and production needs and sewerage, gas supply, internal road infrastructure and construction of optical electronic communication networks. At the same time, the supply infrastructure for the entire territory will be built. “I am glad that this idea and our long-term efforts to realize it have been crowned with success. I want Sliven to have high-paying jobs. I believe that in this way our chances of turning our region into an attractive center for investment, development and more opportunities for business will increase,” commented Mayor Stefan Radev.
