The completed infrastructure of Sliven Industrial Park was officially inaugurated
An official ceremony marked the completion of the project “Construction of connecting and internal infrastructure of Sliven Industrial Park.” Its implementation was carried out with the financial support of the European Union under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, through the AttractInvestBG program, aimed at developing industrial zones and attracting investment.
Sliven Industrial Park is among a total of 11 projects being implemented under the program, and it is the first officially opened site among them. Of all the included territories, it is also the largest in terms of area. Out of the 11 projects, 8 are in Northern Bulgaria, and only 3 are in Southern Bulgaria – in Burgas, Stara Zagora, and Sliven.
The total area of the Industrial Park exceeds 2,500 decares. The site includes an airport runway with a length of 2.5 kilometers. The park is structured into 17 blocks and four main zones – “North,” “Southeast,” “Southwest,” and a zone with an airport and a motorcycle track.
The “North” zone has an area of 452,095 sq. m, the “Southeast” zone covers 533,424 sq. m, the “Southwest” zone has an area of 38,322 sq. m, and the airport with the motorcycle track occupies 1,660,249 sq. m.
The project value amounts to 23,797,111.88 BGN, or 12,167,270 EUR, with co-financing amounting to nearly 6 million BGN. The final recipient of the funds is Sliven Industrial Park Ltd., and the project was implemented in partnership with Sliven Municipality.
Mayor Stefan Radev welcomed the guests at the ceremony and expressed satisfaction with the successful completion of the activities under this large-scale project. Among the official guests were Yordanka Chobanova – Head of the Representation of the European Commission in Bulgaria, representatives of the Ministry of Innovation and Growth, the InvestBulgaria Agency, diplomatic and trade organizations, as well as representatives of local and foreign businesses.
The event was also attended by representatives of the Sliven Municipal Council, led by Chairman Dimitar Mitev, Regional Governor Marincho Hristov, as well as guests from various institutions and business circles.
Metropolitan Arseniy of Sliven served a prayer for health and prosperity. The opening of the constructed part of the Industrial Park was part of the program of the “Invest in Sliven” business forum, which continues from 2:00 PM in the hall of the National Hotel.
The project was implemented with the support of the European Union – NextGenerationEU, under procedure BG-RRP-3.007 “Public support program for the development of industrial areas, parks and similar territories and for attracting investments” under Component 3 “Smart Industry.”
