The local parliament will vote on changes in two municipal ordinances and the announcement of a competition for the manager of the “Sliven Industrial Park”

Seven additional points will be voted on by the municipal councilors at tomorrow’s regular session of the local parliament in Sliven. This was announced during today’s press conference by the Chairman of the Municipal Council, Dimitar Mitev. It usually took place the day before the meeting tomorrow, and the highlights of the preliminary agenda were presented to it. With the additional proposals, it will contain 64 points, noted Mitev. Among them, he emphasized another amendment to the budget due to urgent expenses in various municipal areas. An amendment is foreseen in two of the municipal ordinances. One concerns the terms and conditions for establishing the housing needs of citizens, rental accommodation and sale of municipal housing. The other – for the determination and administration of local fees and prices for services and granted rights on the territory of the municipality of Sliven. The changes in the first one refer to price updates, changes in the stipulated terms and some of the conditions under the Ordinance. The amendment of the second is necessary due to changes in the activity of the Municipal Enterprise “Urban Mobility”. It will take over the management and management of the bus station in Sliven, which until now was the responsibility of “Passenger Transport” EOOD. In this regard, Mitev pointed out that the Municipality plans to repair the bus station building, stressing that the current prices and services will remain unchanged.

Among the items on the agenda is the announcement of a competition for the selection of the manager of “Industrial Park Sliven” EOOD. At the moment, the acting manager is Solomon Moscona. At the end of April, a management contract was signed with a term until a competition, but no more than 6 months. This necessitates a decision to hold a competition for the selection of a manager of the newly created company.

As an important point, Dimitar Mitev pointed out the consent of the Municipality of Sliven to apply, in partnership with “Passenger Transport”, the Municipalities of Yambol and Nova Zagora, for the implementation of investments aimed at environmentally friendly mobility.

“It is about various activities – purchase of electric buses, trolleybuses, creation of pedestrian zones, lighting of pedestrian paths. In general, traffic safety should be increased in an ecological way,” explained Mitev. 90% of the funding will be taken over by the Recovery and Sustainability Mechanism, the remaining 10% will be at the expense of the municipal budget.

Tomorrow, the municipal councilors will also vote on the possible inclusion of settlements from the municipality of Sliven in a non-profit association for public benefit – “Local initiative group Nova Zagora”. If the proposal receives support, the city of Kermen, the villages of Bikovo, Mladovo and Skobelevo will be included in the territory of the Nova Zagora Local Initiative Group.

“The joining of all Sliven villages and the town of Kermen from Sliven municipality to several local initiative groups turned out to be a good opportunity. Thus, they will be able to participate in European programs related to agriculture, which they did not have the opportunity to do so far,” noted the chairman of the local parliament.

The additional seven proposals, which are about to be voted on, refer to real estate transactions with municipal property.

The session is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. in the “May” hall.

The detailed preliminary materials for tomorrow’s session can be found on the website of the Municipal Council-Sliven, in the section “Sessions” – subsection “Proposals for the session”.
