“Industrial Park Sliven” will partner with the branch of the Technical University

Cooperation and partnership agreements were concluded between the Municipality, “Industrial Park Sliven” EOOD and “Faculty and College – Sliven” at the Technical University – Sofia. The meeting took place on October 30. The agreements were signed by the acting mayor of the municipality, Rumen Ivanov, the manager of the park, Solomon Moscona, and the deputy rector for the faculty and college, Prof. Ph.D. Eng. Stanimir Karapetkov.
By signing these agreements, the parties declared their willingness to cooperate in increasing and improving the educational opportunities of their employees and students, as well as providing related services in this regard, as well as developing joint national and international scientific projects and carrying out the exchange of scientific information related to the implementation of scientific research programs.
As future partners, the parties agreed to develop cooperation aimed at the implementation of policies for economic development and the realization of ad hoc projects on the territory of the “Sliven Industrial Park” and the region, attracting investors, as well as the creation of an Innovative Center for technological transfer to ” Faculty and College – Sliven”, which is laid down in the Plan for Integrated Development of the Municipality of Sliven for the period 2021-2027.
The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Mayor for Economic Development Stoyan Markov, the Head of the International Cooperation and Investments Department Maria Paspaldzhieva, the Deputy Head of the “Faculty and College – Sliven” at the Technical University Prof. Dr. Koicho Atanasov, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Pedagogy Faculty Assoc. Dr. Eng. Neven Krastev and the director of the College – Sliven Assoc. Dr. Violeta Raykova.
The guests were familiarized with the detailed layout plan of the park and the project with which an application will be made for financing the construction of infrastructure under the Program for Public Support for the Development of Industrial Areas, Parks and Similar Territories and for Attracting Investments (“AttractInvestBG”) from the Plan for recovery and resilience.
These are the next partnership agreements with representatives of the academic circles, after agreements were concluded last week with the rector of the Burgas Free University Prof. Dr. Milen Baltov, the Institute for Space Research and Technologies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, represented by its director Prof. Dr. Eng. Georgi Zhelev, as well as Prof. Dimo Zafirov, who is the chairman of the Bulgarian Drone Academy and a member of the Institute for Space Technologies and Research at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Under the leadership of Prof. Zafirov, at the end of last year, experts from Poland, managing the Polish space for drones, together with a team from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, made the first experiments for “U-Space” in Bulgaria at “Bershen” airport in Sliven. “U-Space” is a drone traffic management system.
